Successful Personal Injury Claims
Below you will find just a few examples of some of the personal injury compensation claims Peter has dealt with from the Birmingham office.
Road Accident resulting in Brain Damage
In this case our client was a teenager. She was involved in a road accident and suffered a head injury and brain injury which left her unable to walk as well as having other physical and mental injuries.
Peter's experience told him that it was important not to fully settle the claim until his client had reached maturity when it would be clear how her injuries would affect her in the long-term.
In the meantime, Peter recovered interim payments on his client's behalf which provided for suitable housing and the round-the clock care the client needed.
Medical Misdiagnosis
Our client in this case was a baby who was born with a dimple (known as a sinus) in the small of her back. The dimple was dismissed as being nothing serious by medical staff including a doctor who performed her 6 week check-up.
When the baby became unwell, her mother took her to the GP and to the hospital but by the time it was discovered that the baby was suffering from meningitis which had attacked the spinal cord and brain through the sinus in her back it was too late to prevent the partial paralysis she had suffered.
This was a very complex clinical negligence case where Peter was successful in recovering a fair amount of compensation to allow the client, who is now a young woman, to live as normal a life as possible given her disabilities.
