Motorcycle accident claim

Helen's client in this case was a motorcyclist who was knocked off his bike by another road user.  The man was driving his motorcycle home from work when another driver who was travelling in the opposite direction attempted to turn right into a side road and turned directly into the motorcyclist's path.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was unable to return to the job he had at the time of the accident.  He was retired on the grounds of ill-health.

Although liability was admitted by the third party insurers in this case, Helen still had to fight hard to obtain a fair amount of compensation for the injured motorcyclist as the offers of compensation made were far too low to begin with.  She was eventually successful in recovering a substantial sum for the man.

Taxi Passenger

In this case Helen's client was a man who was a passenger in a taxi.  As the taxi was driving past the entrance to a side road another vehicle pulled out without giving way to the taxi and collided with the side of it.

The man was trapped inside the taxi for some time before being freed and taken to hospital.  He was found to have a broken pelvis, a broken leg and damage to his knee.

This was another case where although liability was admitted, Helen had to use her skill and experience to negotiate an acceptable sum of compensation as the initial offers were very low.
