Successful Personal Injury Claims
Below, you will find just a small selection of some of the personal injury compensation claims Vincent has dealt with in the London office.
Industrial Deafness Compensation
Vincent's client in this case was a man whose hearing was damaged at work by a colleague's actions. The man was working as a maintenance engineer in a tunnel when a colleague drove an engineering train into the tunnel and sounded the horn only a few feet from the client.
The loud horn noise was amplified by the confined space and left the client's ears ringing. Following the incident he found it difficult to hear properly and when he had his annual safety critical hearing test, he failed and was made redundant.
Vincent made a claim for compensation against the man's employers and negotiated £25,000 compensation on his behalf.
Needlestick Injury Compensation
In this case Vincent's client was a man working in a postal sorting depot. He was sorting mail which should have already been checked for dangers such as harmful debris. As the mail was supposed to have been checked already, the man wasn't wearing gloves.
As he pulled some mail from a sack he felt a pain in his wrist and discovered that he had been stabbed by a used syringe.
In addition to the physical injuries caused from the needlestick, the man developed anxiety and depression while he waited for months for the results of blood tests to find out if he had been infected with any blood borne illnesses.
Fortunately his tests came back clear but the incident affected him badly and he found it hard to return to work in case the same thing happened again. His employment was eventually terminated by his employers.
Vincent made a claim against the man's employers and was successful in recovering almost £170,000 compensation for him.
