Brain Damage resulting from Road Accident

David's client in this case was a 16 year old boy who was crossing the road when he was hit by a car which was driving on the wrong side of the road.

After the accident he was in a coma for several days and was kept in hospital for several weeks.  He had sustained a severe brain injury.

Liability was admitted by the driver's insurance company but it was a long and complicated process to negotiate an acceptable amount of compensation which would take into account the client's future lost earnings and the care he would need for the rest of his life.

David recovered interim payments to help the client and his family financially while the final compensation sum was being negotiated.  The client and his family were very happy with the service they received from David.

Traumatic Amputation of Arm

In this case David's client was a man working as a gardener who was operating a tractor mower.  The mower became blocked and he was clearing grass cuttings from it, trying to clear the blockage when the machine malfunctioned and cut off his arm.

David made a personal injury claim for compensation against the manufacturers of the mower and they were subsequently prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

The injured man was fitted with a prosthetic arm and does try to live as normal a life as possible but there are still a lot of things that he is unable to do without assistance.

This is another case where David had to fight hard to obtain a fair amount of compensation but eventually managed to secure over a quarter of a million pounds for the injured man.
