Road Accident resulting in amputation

In this case, David's client was involved in a road accident in a private car park when he suffered a crushing injury to his legs.

The injuries caused were so severe that the client had to have one of his legs amputated.

Within weeks of the accident, David had recovered an interim payment for the client which paid for adaptations to be made to his house together with care to get him mobile again.

David went on to settle the claim fully and a substantial amount of compensation was recovered for the man which took into account his life-changing injuries.

Fatal Accident after trip at home

David’s client in this case was the daughter of an elderly lady who died from a heart attack after tripping in her own home.

A heating engineer had arrived at her house unannounced and as part of the work he was doing, needed to use a vacuum cleaner. He left the black cable of the vacuum cleaner stretching across her dark-patterned carpet and she tripped over it and fell, fracturing her hip and wrist. She died the following day after the injuries from the fall exacerbated existing health problems.

David was successful in recovering compensation for the lady’s family and they were happy that the claim had highlighted the dangerous practices operated by the engineering company.

Slip at Work caused serious injury

In this case, David’s client was injured at work after slipping and falling. The lady was employed by the NHS and was in the process of attending to a patient when she slipped on a mattress which had been placed on the floor to prevent injuries to the patient if they should fall out of bed.

As the lady stepped onto the mattress, it moved beneath her feet and she fell, suffering serious injuries to her knee and back. Her injuries meant that she had to take early retirement, losing out on future earnings and her pension.

David recovered in excess of £20,000 compensation for the lady and she was happy with the service she received.
