Tripped and Injured at Work
In this case, Bryan's client worked as a home-help. She was at a client's house and was collecting coal for them from their coal shed when she tripped on a plank of wood which had been used to stop coal falling out of the shed. She fell and fractured her wrist.
Bryan had to fight hard in this case as his client's employers initially denied liability for the accident. Before the case went to court the employers settled the claim with £6,000 compensation.
Hit by Falling Object at Work
Bryan's client in this case was a firefighter who was injured at work when a tool fell out of a fire appliance and landed on his foot. The tool was a heavy piece of equipment used to break down doors and it fractured his toe.
The Fire Brigade initially denied liability for the accident so this was another case where Bryan's skill and experience was required. He issued proceedings against the Fire Service and they then paid the injured firefighter £1,800 compensation.
