Successful Workplace Accident Claims
Below, you will find just a small selection of some of the workplace accident claims Phil has dealt with in the Leeds office.
Accident involving Forklift Truck
In this case, Phil's client was walking across the yard at work when he was hit by a forklift truck (FLT) which knocked him to the ground and then ran over him.
The client had tried to protect himself by wearing all of the high-visibility clothing and other safety wear he had been provided with but the accident still happened because the workplace had not been organised to allow employees to navigate the area safely.
The client underwent several operations but was left with permanent damage to his internal organs. Phil made a personal injury claim against the client's employers and recovered £100,000 compensation.
Hand Crushed in Accident at Work
Phil's client in this case was at work and was helping to move a heavy item from the forks of a forklift truck into a skip. As he went to move the item, the driver of the forklift truck moved the forks and trapped the client's hand between the forks and the skip.
Several of the client's fingers were crushed and even after surgery to repair the fractures he was left with scarring and deformity as well as weakness in the hand which is still often painful and swollen.
Phil had to fight hard in this case and issue court proceedings to recover £6,000 for the client.
