Accident at Work results in Amputated Leg

Ian Slowther was involved in an accident at work which resulted in a below the knee amputation. Brain Injury Victim received nearly £1m

In this case Thompsons acted for the father of a road accident victim who suffered a life-changing brain injury. At the time of the accident the boy was only 16 years old but even after he turned 18, his injuries meant that he wasn't capable of dealing with the paperwork and decisions involved with making a claim therefore his father dealt with the case for him.

The boy was a rear seat passenger in a car being driven by a friend. The driver lost control of the vehicle whilst driving at speed and collided with a lamppost and a wall.

He suffered multiple serious injuries and at first it looked unlikely that he would survive. He had multiple skull fractures, a brain haemorrhage, a collapsed lung and a fractured eye socket. The injuries to his brain caused him to develop epilepsy, memory problems, concentration problems, anger management problems and vision problems.

Thompsons recovered nearly £1m for the boy which took into account the lengthy rehabilitation he required and ongoing care for the remainder of his life.
